Our 2006 Uncirculated (bullion) arrived with us on 10th January 2006 and are available now for immediate delivery.

Proofs Received Late January 2006
In 2003 and 2004, the Uncirculated (bullion) version was issued in January, and the proofs about 10th April. We expected our 2006 proof sovereigns to arrive here by about 20th January, direct from the Royal Mint. After the customary slight delay, they just about scraped into January, arriving here on the 31st January.

Issue Limits
For 2006, the issue limit is a maximum of 75,000 uncirculated, the same as for recent years. The issue limit for the proof version will be 12,500.

Highest Ever Sterling Gold Price
Writing this on January 17th 2008 gold has just reached its' highest ever gold price in Sterling. Obviously this affects the price of our gold products so we have had to increase our uncirculated sovereign prices accordingly. The prices shown below are semi-fixed but should gold fluctuate dramatically in either direction we may have to adjust the prices once again.

The fine gold content of a sovereign is 0.2354 troy ounces.

Certificate Numbering
We noticed on our first delivery, that we had received a quantity of very low numbered certificates, although the numbers were not consecutive. The lowest number we received was 13 (0013), and we thought we would photograph it, you can see the result on the top right of this page. When we saw the low numbers, we hoped we might have received numbers 1 to 100, but the numbering was almost random, going up to about 200, as though they had been packed for shipping from a larger batch rather than being used in strict order. Although we would not generally consider a low number to convey any increased value, it would have been nice to have the very first.
