Ever since late 1999, we have struggled to get enough 1999 proof sovereigns to meet demand. we often have a waiting list. Market factors of supply and demand have been steadily pushing prices upwards. Our current price and availability is shown in the table below.

1999 Gold Sovereigns Are Now Sold Out
The 1999 sovereign sold out at the Royal Mint in October 1999. Although we managed to get about 10 more, we have now completely sold out of these, too!
We now know of no other dealers with any in stock, otherwise we would have bought from them.
We were originally selling at the official Royal Mint price of £149, the extra 10 we had to buy in got sold at £160 each, and we can't quote a price on any future stock, as we don't even know whether we will be able to find any more this year.
September 27th, 2000 - We have one piece in stock, with box, but missing certificate at £195. Please note we will currently pay £175 each.
From the number of enquiries we are still getting, it looks as though there will be a lot of disappointed people who will not be able to get their hands on one.

We have just managed to find another two pieces of the elusive 1999 proof sovereigns. For the last year we have had a small waiting list for them.

Waiting List
If you must have a 1999, you can always let us know, and we can add you to our waiting list.
Although it's impossible to make an accurate prediction, it could be 6 to 12 months wait.
- 1899 Sovereign
If it's for a christening or similar gift occasion, our suggestion for an alternative is to think about an 1899 sovereign.
- 1999 Proof Half Sovereign
Were still available at £84 until very recently.
They are now completely sold out everywhere, and we have a small waiting list, but as with the sovereigns, it could be a long wait.
- 1999 Britannia - Three Different Sizes Available
We have one ounce, quarter ounce and tenth ounce in stock.

- 2000 Sovereign
Ordinary uncirculated have been available from about January 5th, 2000.
Proofs came on sale in May, priced at £125, and sold out within a few weeks. We do have some available in stock at a small premium.
